Introduction

Debden House Centre is the London Borough of Newham's Adult Education Centre. Newham acquired it in 1947, at which time, the site was a farm and a farm house belonging to a very large stately home called Debden Hall.

Debden House from the beginning has provided an ideal environment for educational courses and leisure activities and it has become more than a convenient place for studying as courses and themes should be expected to provide refreshment of mind and stimulation for wider fields of interest, in addition to this the pleasant setting brings relaxation of the body and soul.

The centre consist of a large grade 2 listed house with 50 acres of Grassland which is surrounded by Epping Forest. Debden House is about 6 minutes from junction 5 of the M11, 10 minutes from junction 26 of the M25 and within two miles of Debden House, there are three Central Line underground station, which can take you to Central London in approximately 30 minutes at most.
